Wright to face Sherrock in the inaugural Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals

Peter Wright will play Fallon Sherrock in the first round of the Jack World Darts Championships finals, with the draw and schedule for this month’s Amsterdam event available.

The World Darts Championship finals return to AFAS Live from September 16-18, with the popular venue of Amsterdam hosting the 24-player event for the third time.

This month’s draw – played by PDC President Barry Hearn – pits World Champion Wright against Matchplay Women’s World Champion Sherrock in the first round, where he is set to face third-seeded winner Michael Smith.

UK Open champion Danny Neubert flanks Australian World Cup winner Simon Whitlock in another great match, as champion Johnny Clayton awaits second-round winner.

Whitlock World Cup winning partner Damon Heta meets Queensland Darts Masters semi-finalist Gordon Mathers for an all-Australian showdown, with the winner advancing to a tie against home favorite Michael Van Gerwin – the four-time winner of the event.

Top seed Dimitri van den Berg, who won the Nordic Darts Masters and the Dutch Darts Masters in June, will meet American top seed Danny Pages or seed Ryan Joyce.

World number one Jeroen Price – who triumphed in the NZ Darts Masters in August – begins his campaign against veteran Dutchman Vincent van der Voort or Canada’s Matt Campbell, as the Welshman tries to replicate his success in 2020.

Meanwhile, 2018 first-round champion James Wade plays North American or South African champion Leonard Gates or Devon Petersen.

Seventh seed Joe Cullen could face Def Chisnall in a repeat of the Masters final in January, with Chisnall facing fellow qualifier Jimmy Hughes in a thrilling first-round clash.

Elsewhere, Nordic Darts Masters runner-up Gary Anderson will face Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode or New Zealand’s Haupai Poha in the second round.

The tournament begins with the first round on Friday, September 16, before the eight seeded players – based on the tournament’s global merit order – enter the fray in the second round on Saturday 17 September.

The £300,000 event then concludes on Sunday 18 September, with the afternoon session quarter-finals, followed by the evening’s semi-finals and finals.

Limited tickets to Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals are available through Ticketmaster.nl.
